Simon is honored to be a part of such a meaningful project. He hasn’t been involved in a birth since his own many years ago, so he is excited to explore the birthing process through this play.
Simon has performed in numerous theatre and film projects. Favorite stage roles include Benjamin Cohen in “The Underpants” (Boise Contemporary Theatre), Ferdinand in “The Tempest” (Freehold Studio in Seattle) and Sebastian in “Twelfth Night” (Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Los Angeles). Most recently in film, Simon played the role of the TV Journalist in David O. Russell’s political satire, “Nailed”, starring Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Outside of acting, Simon has worked extensively in marketing and production. He served as Co-Producer and Assistant Director of the Miracle Project (www.themiracleproject.org), a critically acclaimed theatre and film arts program for children with autism and other special needs. The Miracle Project was the topic of a documentary feature film called Autism: The Musical, which premiered on HBO last spring and is currently up for 5 Emmy awards.
Simon wishes to dedicate this show to all the mothers out there, especially his own. Visit www.simonhamlin.com to learn more about Simon and his work.
